Guitar Lessons Charlotte

GREG CONRAD
Hello, my name is Greg Conrad and I’ve been playing guitar for 18 years. I took courses in Jazz performance and theory all thru high school then continued my education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. Since then I have been fortunate enough to get paid to do something I would gladly do for free; play, compose, and produce music. If you have lived in Charlotte for a while, chances are you’ve heard one or two of the jingles I’ve written. Music has been my passion since age 9 and I look forward to sharing it with you. And oh, don’t let the Jazz training fool you, I’m a rocker at heart. My teaching area is mainly Uptown Charlotte and surrounding areas.

(Greg has been personally taught by me to use the exact same method of teaching that I use to get student off and running on guitar. - Ralph)

GREG'S LETTERS

Greg,

I wanted to write you a quick thank you note.

As you know, I have attempted to take lessons from several guitar instructors over the years whose teaching styles have been from one extreme of the spectrum to the other.

I began my musical mis-education by taking lessons from an instructor that started me off in front of a piano and sent me home with a recorder (true story).  On my next attempt I was paired with an instructor that told me that in order to play the guitar I needed to have a firm grasp of music theory prior to picking up a guitar.   And finally I had the pleasure of an "instructor" that was more interested in showing me how good he was than teaching me.  Needless to say this left me frustrated and wanting to list my guitar on eBay.

I wanted to give it one last shot and honestly I had low expectations based on previous experiences going into this.

Since I've been taking lessons, you have invoked a sincere excitement in learning how to play the guitar, that of which I have never known.  Your wealth of knowledge allows me to ask any question which you always have the answer, the progression of your lesson plans keeps things interesting, you push me to stick with it and being able to take lessons from the comfort and relaxed environment of my home equals a wonderful experience that I always look forward to.
